Decorative Concrete Resurfacing Flagstone Condo Deck Lake Ozark

okay guys this week we’re in lake of the ozarks missouri down here at Palisades condo complex that’s a small deck it’s probably between 180 200 square feet I can’t remember it’s been a few months I bid it a few months ago when I bid it so well we’ve got bet all the grinding done I didn’t get my before video really so I guess this is it because there was a concrete overlay already on here and I ground it off already so as you can see we’ve got still one crack there to repair it’s a small hairline crack nothing major I’ve already got the you know the perimeter taped off I’m not gonna paper anything until next week when we start spraying but it’s ready to go for the most part right now for a base coat of chocolate concrete we’re gonna do a couple of base coats dark chocolate so that’s going to be our grout coat and then I’m gonna spray our top coat next week and over the top of that really light tan top coat is going to be a highlight to highlight coats one white one black I don’t know if I mentioned but the pattern is flagstone.

So anyways this is kind of our I guess you could say our before video I to these all the time but normally I do them before this so this is it so I’m gonna get started all right the next steps what we’ve done basically I skipped a few steps in the video process you know the last video you know you guys saw the bare concrete what I’ve done since then I put two chocolates base coats down and then I taped out today I taped out my flagstone pattern and papered off the perimeter all around the condo unit here in the screened-in area so right now I’m getting ready to put it out put on what we call a lock coat or a tack coat it’s gonna go down over the top of this tape and we’re gonna lock this tape down so that that that final color because it’s lighter we don’t want it to bleed up underneath the tape so the tack coat is going to be sprayed on next to prevent that and then of course we’re gonna once the tack coat is down we’re gonna put a very light tan over the top of this and this is actually pretty dark and I’ll show you what I mean when this is sealed it’ll be very dark brown like that but it dries extremely light so we’ll have a very light coat that’ll get sprayed over the top at the very end very light tan coat and then I’ll probably do a black and a white highlight over the top of that just kind of dust it with that so you can still see you can barely see the black and the white but you’ll you know it’ll give it a little bit of character and a little bit of depth so that’ll be the final step before we lock everything down with a seal coat on Wednesday and then it’ll be done of course and I’ll do a final video then so okay we’ve got this tat coat down over our flagstone pattern now as you’ve seen from the previous video just before this I had it taped out and ready to go for that tack code it’s over the top now you could still see the tape a little bit in spots but for the most part that uh that tape seal

okay this job in Palisades yacht club condominiums like the use RX is finished just put the final coat of sealer on it about 30 maybe 45 minutes ago  so if you guys are checking this out on YouTube be sure and subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss out on all the future videos that I do give the video a like if you like it and you like it well enough to leave a comment good or bad just let me know I tried to include most the steps in this video didn’t quite get them all but maybe on the next one I’ll do an actual live well not live footage but some footage of me actually spraying the stuff on or laying it down with trial and be sure and check out the links in the description below the video here they’ll take you over to my website as well a lot more information there see you guys in the next project

Decorative Concrete How to do Decorative Concrete Resurfacing Acid Stain | Lake Ozark Osage Beach Mo

All right this week, we’re at Mystic Bay condos in Osage Beach Missouri. This is Rick with custom, concrete design at this back deck. We’re gonna start with will open area right here seems to be in pretty good shape.

Few stains and goes into the screened-in porch area. I think we’ve got about five or six cracks that we have to repair there, pretty small hairline cracks, so they’re, not bad. There’s, one of them. We’re, just getting ready to grind, we’ve got everything set up, so we’re, going to go ahead and start grinding.

Okay, we have the texture on, got everything tapered off and we are ready to spray. The antique stain we’re gonna darken this down just a little bit and the sun’s, kind of creating a whole lot of shadows for us, so it’s.

Probably gonna distort this a little bit, but you can see the Tuscan slight texture. A darker base lighter top coat. It ‘ S already got a little bit of marbling going on on our top coat and, of course, you know there’s variation between a the base and top coat that you can already spot so make it look a little bit different here in a minute.

Okay, this job at Mystic Bay is now complete. Yesterday we put our antiquing stain on it and got it cleaned up today and put our sealer on get to coach of the acrylic sealer so that colors just poppin real nice.

Now, looking good nice and shiny and the sun’s, gonna play with us a little bit again shadows kind of make. It look a little different here and there, but it looks good turned out great if you get closer shot of some of this without the sunlight affecting it.

That way, you can kind of get a look at the texture. Remember we had about five or six cracks in this that we had to repair to and, as you can see, they have disappeared and, as always, if you guys are watching this on my youtube channel, please subscribe to my channel if you like the videos that way You won’t, miss anything that I do in the future and if you like, this video hit that little like button down below and also comment.

Decorative Concrete Tuscan Slate Brick Boarder Antique Taupe Patio Custom Concrete Lake Ozark

Hey this is Rick with custom concrete design at Lake of the Ozarks. This week we are in Westphalia Missouri. We’re, going to be doing this patio right here. It’s about a thousand square feet wraps around the other side of the house over there, but we’re just going to come to this cold joint.

We’re, going to stay to the left side of it. We’ve already started doing the grinding. As you tell there, you can probably see a lot of the white drain marks where we’ve been, but those those are where the cracks are.

How will you guys can see this on a video or not? It’s kind of hard for me to tell exactly where it’s at till the Sun and shadows here, but there’s, some repairs that have to be done right here along this cold joint there’s another pretty good-sized crack right here on the corner.

It’s, not long, but it’s kind of wide. This is probably the worst one that we’ve got this just wraps on around where there’s a couple more cracks over here. You business owners pinning him between a desk and a vehicle show.

This job here in Westphalia Missouri, is now complete. We’ve got our brick borders everywhere, camouflaged our joint lines, Tuscan slate texture, finish: colors are taupe a little bit darker on the base coat a bit lighter on the topcoat.

Then we sprayed it with some antiquing stain same color, taupe spray, the border. All the brick, I should say, sprayed it through our hopper gun and we hand painted quite a few bricks, while we have various colors shine on it, a little bit closer view here.

Take you to my Facebook page. You can check that out and also take you to my website. Entryways. Looking good [ Music ] see you guys on the next project:

Decorative Concrete Condo Deck Tuscan Slate Texture Brown Antique Stain | Lake of the Ozarks MO

Okay this week we are in Greenview Missouri by the hurricane deck and Lake of the Ozarks MO, today were gonna start on a condo deck luckily for us its on the ground level and will be on the backside of the complex working on this screened in patio concrete has a few cracks nothing major the complex itself is fairly new so we have some great concrete to work with and another nice view of the lake.

So first step with this concrete is to prep it up meaning open up the cracks grind the surface which opens up the pores of the concrete to get it ready for our overlay. Once the cracks are opened up I’ll go ahead and fill them and then grind them down flush with the rest of the concrete, now the cracks are filled and ground down were just gonna go ahead and grind the rest of it cleaned it up the best we can with a shop vac and then pressure wash it.

The next step is putting down the base coat we are going with a dark chocolate color as our base, that goes down pretty quick so we went ahead and put down a second base coat.

Now were ready for our top coat which is can be a Tuscan Slate texture which will now give this concrete some depth and will create a nice design for the stains in the next step.

Right now we have to prep off the screen and the inside walls with paper, mix up our antique stain pour it into our pump up sprayer and spray this out randomly most likely I will need 2 maybe 3 coats I would say the third coat will be more of a highlight coat where I just kind of spray here and there to get the marbleization that I’m looking for.

Once I have the antique stain applied and the marbleization that I’m looking for I’ll let it dry and move on to the next step will be the next day and will come in and remove the paper get it cleaned up and ready for sealer, so I always come in and put two coats a sealer on the next day this allows the antique stain to fully dry and just give me that look them after. The first coat of sealer usually gets absorbed very quickly, however the second coat is what I like to call the money coat and it really allows the color to pop and gives it a great shine.

I would say that this Brown antique stain along with our Tuscan Slate has to be one of our more popular floors that we do our client was extremely happy with it and it brought in several more bids from those that live in that condo complex, enjoy the video on this post and the rest of the videos on my page under the video gallery tab be sure and check out the picture gallery as well and all the other information on this website.

Decorative Concrete Overlay Coating Knockdown Finish on a Pool Deck | Lake Ozark, MO

On this pool decks we started our day by trimming back bushes grinding the walkway and grinding off the concrete overlay on the pool deck.

Once the concrete overlay was completely removed from the pool deck itself we had several cracks that needed repaired so we ground them out and filled them in. We also had one area that was a hole the size of a baseball so we cleaned it out and continued with our repair.

All the grinding and repairs were done we were finally ready to start our overlay on the entire surface started at the far end of the pool and just worked our way back with our base coat, once it was dry we came back through with a second base coat.

Now we have a fresh clean repaired concrete surface to work with, we measured everything out 4 x 4 squares set on a 45° pitch with a 5 inch border around each square and around the pool itself and we measured out a 10 inch border for the outside perimeter of the pool deck, once we had all our measurements done and had our marks down we continued with our fiber tape to lay down the pattern.

Once the pattern was down it was time for more colored concrete, I decided to do the all the borders first so that meant we had to paper off the 4 x 4 squares from any concrete overspray. Now the borders are sprayed and the only thing we could do was let everything dry overnight.

The next step was to paper off the borders so that we could spray the 4 x 4 squares the lighter color of the two colors, basically what we were trying to go for here and you can see from the pictures and the video is keeping everything overall very light with the color of the house and keeping the borders a few shades darker to set off our pattern and to also complement the trim of the house. After the squares were sprayed we pulled the paper off of our borders and then we also removed our fiber tape that separated the square and the border all of this reveals our pattern our colors and now it’s a matter of getting everything cleaned up and getting it sealed.

The whole process from start to finish took us about three weeks to complete, the reason it took a little bit longer on this project is simply because we had a lot of rain mother nature can be relentless sometimes, but the job got done it turned out great our client was very happy.
